FIBA Approved Parquet Floor Construction

For FIBA approved parquet floor construction, maple used for professional basketball courts should be preferred. Maple is the ideal floor type for basketball courts with its both flexible and hard structure. FIBA finds plywood plates and parquet floor produced from maple suitable for basketball courts. Of course, the production and storage conditions of this tree are also very important. Now let’s give you some details.

Maple, which is FIBA approved parquet, is a solid wood type. This parquet is produced from black and sugar species of maple. These trees are the most durable floor type when compared with other floor trees. For this reason, it is preferred for its long life in sports fields. Maple has a hard and concave structure. Therefore, flexibility and durability come together.

Wood floors have a shrinkage rate. The tree with the highest tensile strength is maple. It is not suitable for use in humid environments because it is very sensitive to moisture. Cracks and insects occur. Such a situation may cause the floor to become completely unusable. For this reason, FIBA approved parquet should not be installed without providing suitable conditions.
